The Eco Lodges
The Eco Lodges fund the charity's work and are therefore a vital part of the sustainability of our charity. We rely on your visits to continue our work in education and the community.
Our site was built with our core ecological principles in mind with the environmental impact of each design choice being carefully considered prior to construction of the site. You can be sure that you are having an environmentally friendly stay when you stay with us at the Eco Lodges.​
Energy and Water
Our site is to a large extent off-grid, with its own water abstraction borehole, water collection and re-use, waste treatment and ground source heating. We also use green certified energy.

We aspire to be a net contributor to the grid, our power supply supported in future by photo voltaic cells and other technology for micro-generation.
Heat retention
All of our Eco Lodges have hot water and under floor heating from our on site ground source heat pump. Our lodges are very well insulated and have double glazed windows which allows them to retain almost all of their heat.
Suppliers
All our recommended suppliers have been chosen with sustainability & the environment in mind down to the toilet paper we supply in the rooms and the cleaning products used.

We also ask that guests therefore bring toiletries that are free from parabens and sulphates to ensure our water quality and limit our harm to the aquatic environment.
We have an external socket that can be used to charge electric vehicles by our guests. As all of our power comes from green energy sources, you can therefore also be confident that you are charging your vehicle in an ecologically sustainable way.
We aim to be as transparent as possible about our eco-credentials and the things that make us an ecologically sustainable site.
