Clophill Heritage Trust
We are a small, local, community charity focused on the environment and heritage.
The charity was founded in 2010 by Ali Bradbury who received a British Empire Medal from Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2019 for her work with the Charity. She raised £1.4 million to save St. Mary's Old Church and build the Eco Lodges to generate income for the sustainability of the charity.
To promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment, in particular the area of Greensand Ridge
To preserve buildings or sites of historic or architectural importance for the advancement of education of the public, in particular St Mary's Old Church in Clophill
To provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances, or for the public at large with the object of improving their conditions of life.
To change young lives through eco learning and heritage education and bring our local community together in a safe, educational environment with their friends and families. A place to enjoy escapes and events in the open space of St Mary's Old Church and the comfort of the Clophill Eco Lodges.
Since our establishment in 2010, our charity has worked with organisations such as Develop Bedford and Youth Inspired to support people with Learning Difficulties, Disabilities, Autism or Mental Health conditions.
We have also had lots of volunteers completing Duke of Edinburgh awards with us.
