Our site, including the accommodation lodges, is to a large extent off-grid, with its own water abstraction borehole, water collection and re-use, waste treatment and ground source heating.
We aspire to be a net contributor to the grid, our power supply supported in future by photo voltaic cells and other technology for micro-generation.
All the eco lodges are specified to have under-floor heating from our ground source heat pump giving an efficient, even warmth throughout. Each lodge also has a spacious hot shower and is comfortably appointed with stunning views of our ancient monument St. Mary's old church from some aspects, as well as oak woods and a glimpse of the countryside beyond, from the balconies.
As an eco site, we strive for everyone to use our precious energy wisely. Very high energy-consuming devices such as hairdryers are therefore provided centrally rather than in every room, to control and minimise our carbon footprint. Information about the eco installation and advice on what to consider for your own 'green' project is also available.
